Product Description
Definition
Concentric Wafer Butterfly Valve is a type of butterfly valve. Its valve disc is concentric with the central shaft of the pipeline in the closed state, and the flow of fluid is controlled by the rotation of the valve disc.
Structural composition
Body: usually cast iron (such as gray cast iron HT200), ductile iron (such as QT450-10), carbon steel (such as WCB) or stainless steel (such as 304, 316) and other materials. The valve body is simple in structure, the shape is generally flat round, and it is installed in the pipeline by clamping, saving space.
Disc: The disc is the key component of the butterfly valve, shaped like a disc, generally made of stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials. It is connected to the drive through a valve stem and rotates around the central shaft of the pipe during opening and closing. The edge of the valve disc is usually made of an elastic sealing material, such as rubber (such as nitrile rubber, EPDM rubber), to ensure good sealing performance.
Stem: The stem connects the drive to the disc and transmits torque to rotate the disc. It needs to have sufficient strength and toughness, is usually made of stainless steel, and may be surface treated (such as chrome plating) to improve wear and corrosion resistance.
Drive device: can be manual (such as hand wheel), electric (motor drive), pneumatic (compressed air drive), etc. The manual drive butterfly valve is simple to operate, and the rotation Angle of the disc is controlled by rotating the hand wheel; Electric butterfly valves can realize remote control and automatic operation, and are widely used in industrial automation systems. Pneumatic butterfly valves are suitable for applications that require quick action.
Working principle
When the valve is opened, the driving device drives the stem to rotate, and the disc rotates with it. The disc gradually rotates from a closed position perpendicular to the pipe to a fully open position parallel to the pipe, allowing fluid to flow smoothly through the valve. In the closing process, the disc rotates in reverse and gradually returns to the vertical position, and the sealing material on the edge of the disc is closely fitted with the valve body to cut off the fluid channel and achieve seal. The flow control of the valve is achieved by the Angle of rotation of the valve disc, the greater the rotation Angle, the larger the flow area, the greater the flow rate.
