A socket weld half-coupling is a semi-circular pipe fitting designed to:

- Create branch connections on existing pressurized pipelines (up to Class 6000)

- Provide a socket weld outlet while requiring only 180° pipe access

- Eliminate full pipe disassembly for maintenance/modifications

- Split-Socket Design: Allows installation without pipe removal

 3. Installation Procedure

1. Surface Preparation:

   - Clean pipe surface to SA 2.5 standard

   - Align coupling using alignment pins

2. Tack Welding:

   - 4 equidistant tack welds (min. 6mm length)

3. Final Welding:

   - GTAW root pass (Argon purge)

   - SMAW fill/cap passes (E7018)

4. Post-Weld:
